Benefits end date after a layoff - 11 months and counting

HR said my health plan continues for a bit and I do not understand how. This is my first time dealing with any of this. I do not want to be surprised by a bill. How did you confirm your end date?

Ask HR to confirm the exact date in writing. I also called the insurance company to double-check.
