Word-of-mouth leads in Seattle - 13 months and counting

Two small Seattle employers told me they are hiring but have not posted yet. There are 12 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. They like a brief email with a résumé. Does anyone have similar leads?

Visiting in person worked for a trades job. For office jobs, email was better.
