Word-of-mouth leads in San Diego (update)

Two small San Diego employers told me they are hiring but have not posted yet. I worked as a graphic designer before this. One is a print shop, one is an accounting firm and one is a clinic. Should I visit in person?

Small employers often hire on recommendation. Ask neighbours, former co-workers and your library.

Keep a list of who you contacted and when. It makes follow-ups easy.
