Word-of-mouth leads in San Diego - 19 weeks in

Two small San Diego employers told me they are hiring but have not posted yet. Any experience at all would help. They prefer people who can start within a couple of weeks. Does anyone have similar leads?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
