Word-of-mouth leads in Sacramento - 12 months and counting

Two small Sacramento employers told me they are hiring but have not posted yet. Thank you in advance. They prefer people who can start within a couple of weeks. Does anyone have similar leads?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
