Word-of-mouth leads in Portland - what worked for you?

I asked around at a community meeting and got three leads. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. One is a print shop, one is an accounting firm and one is a clinic. Does anyone have similar leads?

Small employers often hire on recommendation. Ask neighbours, former co-workers and your library.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 12 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
