Word-of-mouth leads in Madison - 17 weeks in

Two small Madison employers told me they are hiring but have not posted yet. It has been a long 17 weeks. They like a brief email with a résumé. What do you write in a cold email?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 2 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
