Word-of-mouth leads in Fresno - first time posting

Two small Fresno employers told me they are hiring but have not posted yet. It has been weighing on me all week. They like a brief email with a résumé. Does anyone have similar leads?

Visiting in person worked for a trades job. For office jobs, email was better.
