Word-of-mouth leads in Dallas, project coordinator here

Two small Dallas employers told me they are hiring but have not posted yet. There are 17 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. They prefer people who can start within a couple of weeks. Does anyone have similar leads?

Keep a list of who you contacted and when. It makes follow-ups easy.
