Word-of-mouth leads in Cincinnati - first time posting

Two small Cincinnati employers told me they are hiring but have not posted yet. This is my first time dealing with any of this. They prefer people who can start within a couple of weeks. What do you write in a cold email?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
