Word-of-mouth leads in Cincinnati - any advice?

I asked around at a community meeting and got three leads. It has been weighing on me all week. They prefer people who can start within a couple of weeks. What do you write in a cold email?

Visiting in person worked for a trades job. For office jobs, email was better.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
