Word-of-mouth leads in Buffalo - first time posting

Two small Buffalo employers told me they are hiring but have not posted yet. Thank you in advance. They prefer people who can start within a couple of weeks. Does anyone have similar leads?

Visiting in person worked for a trades job. For office jobs, email was better.
