Word-of-mouth leads in Atlanta

Two small Atlanta employers told me they are hiring but have not posted yet. It has been a long 21 weeks. They like a brief email with a résumé. Does anyone have similar leads?

Keep a list of who you contacted and when. It makes follow-ups easy.

Visiting in person worked for a trades job. For office jobs, email was better.
