Warehouse hiring event in Seattle this week - what worked for you?

I saw a flyer for warehouse hiring on the east side of Seattle, with day and night shifts. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. They said to bring ID and a work history, and some people were hired on the spot. Do they hire temps first?
