Warehouse hiring event in Madison this week - what worked for you?

A distribution centre near Madison is holding hiring sessions this week for packers, pickers and forklift operators. I have been trying to stay organised about it. I went for a tour and the place was clean and organised. Do they hire temps first?

If you have forklift experience, say so. It moved me to the top of the pile.

Ask whether the job is direct hire or through an agency. The pay and benefits were very different for me.
