Warehouse hiring event in Charlotte this week - what worked for you?

I saw a flyer for warehouse hiring on the east side of Charlotte, with day and night shifts. This is my first time dealing with any of this. They said to bring ID and a work history, and some people were hired on the spot. Do they hire temps first?

Night shifts often pay a premium, but check the transport options first. The buses thin out late.
