Union apprenticeship sign-ups near Phoenix - what worked for you?

The training centre near Phoenix opened applications for apprenticeships in electrical and welding trades. I do not usually post, so bear with me. Classes are in the evening and work is during the day. How hard is the test?

Visit the training centre in person if you can. Seeing the classrooms helped me decide.
