Union apprenticeship sign-ups near Phoenix - any advice?

The training centre near Phoenix opened applications for apprenticeships in electrical and welding trades. Classes are in the evening and work is during the day. What do you wish you had known?

Visit the training centre in person if you can. Seeing the classrooms helped me decide.

Bring your transcripts and any proof of work history. They asked for both in the interview.
