Union apprenticeship sign-ups near Little Rock - any advice?

A local apprenticeship programme is taking applicants for the next intake. This is my first time dealing with any of this. Applications close in 8 weeks. What do you wish you had known?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
