Union apprenticeship sign-ups near Cleveland - what worked for you?

A local apprenticeship programme is taking applicants for the next intake. I am in Cleveland, in case local advice matters. Classes are in the evening and work is during the day. Did anyone go through it?

Visit the training centre in person if you can. Seeing the classrooms helped me decide.
