Trades apprenticeship applications open in Omaha - what worked for you?

A local apprenticeship programme is taking applicants for the next intake. I am in Omaha, in case local advice matters. Applications close in 21 weeks. What do you wish you had known?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
