Trades apprenticeship applications open in Charlotte - any advice?

I heard of an apprenticeship with paid on-the-job training for people changing careers. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. Applications close in 17 weeks. Did anyone go through it?

You earn while you learn, but the first year is tight. Plan your budget carefully.
