Trades apprenticeship applications open in Birmingham - any advice?

The training centre near Birmingham opened applications for apprenticeships in electrical and welding trades. I am in Birmingham, in case local advice matters. Classes are in the evening and work is during the day. How hard is the test?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.

The aptitude test was mostly maths and reading a diagram. Free practice tests online were enough for me.
