Temp-to-hire openings around Hartford - any advice?

A retailer and two warehouses near Hartford are hiring seasonal staff. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. I would like to avoid a gap in my résumé. Has anyone been converted to permanent?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.

Apply to several. Start dates and schedules change quickly and having options helps.
