Temp-to-hire openings around Denver - any advice?

A retailer and two warehouses near Denver are hiring seasonal staff. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. I would like to avoid a gap in my résumé. Which employers treat seasonal workers well?

I was converted after one season because I showed up every day and volunteered for extra shifts. Managers remember that.
