Small employers hiring around Phoenix - any advice?

A friend who works at a local manufacturer says there are openings not advertised online. I am in Phoenix, in case local advice matters. One is a print shop, one is an accounting firm and one is a clinic. Does anyone have similar leads?

Keep a list of who you contacted and when. It makes follow-ups easy.

Small employers often hire on recommendation. Ask neighbours, former co-workers and your library.
