Small employers hiring around Minneapolis - any advice?

Two small Minneapolis employers told me they are hiring but have not posted yet. They prefer people who can start within a couple of weeks. Should I visit in person?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
