Small employers hiring around Dallas (update)

Two small Dallas employers told me they are hiring but have not posted yet. Any experience at all would help. They like a brief email with a résumé.

Small employers often hire on recommendation. Ask neighbours, former co-workers and your library.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 10 months ago, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
