Seasonal jobs that might turn permanent - what worked for you?

A retailer and two warehouses near Detroit are hiring seasonal staff. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. I would like to avoid a gap in my résumé. Is it worth applying to several at once?

Ask early about permanent openings. Some teams fill them from their seasonal list.
