Seasonal jobs that might turn permanent - what worked for you?

A retailer and two warehouses near Seattle are hiring seasonal staff. There are 14 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. Hours ramp up in the coming weeks. Which employers treat seasonal workers well?

I was converted after one season because I showed up every day and volunteered for extra shifts. Managers remember that.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 5 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
