Seasonal jobs that might turn permanent - what worked for you?

I am looking at seasonal jobs around Denver that might lead to something longer. I worked as a copywriter before this. The pay is hourly with weekly deposits. Which employers treat seasonal workers well?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
