Seasonal jobs that might turn permanent (update)

A retailer and two warehouses near Birmingham are hiring seasonal staff. I would like to avoid a gap in my résumé. Which employers treat seasonal workers well?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.

Apply to several. Start dates and schedules change quickly and having options helps.
