Seasonal jobs that might turn permanent (update)

A retailer and two warehouses near Chicago are hiring seasonal staff. This is my first time dealing with any of this. The pay is hourly with weekly deposits. Has anyone been converted to permanent?

Apply to several. Start dates and schedules change quickly and having options helps.

I was converted after one season because I showed up every day and volunteered for extra shifts. Managers remember that.
