Seasonal jobs that might turn permanent (San Diego)

A retailer and two warehouses near San Diego are hiring seasonal staff. I am in San Diego, in case local advice matters. I would like to avoid a gap in my résumé. Is it worth applying to several at once?

Ask early about permanent openings. Some teams fill them from their seasonal list.
