Seasonal jobs that might turn permanent - any advice?

A staffing agency says some roles convert to permanent after 8 weeks. I am in Birmingham, in case local advice matters. I would like to avoid a gap in my résumé. Which employers treat seasonal workers well?

Apply to several. Start dates and schedules change quickly and having options helps.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
