Seasonal jobs that might turn permanent - any advice?

A retailer and two warehouses near Nashville are hiring seasonal staff. This is my first time dealing with any of this. Hours ramp up in the coming weeks. Has anyone been converted to permanent?

Apply to several. Start dates and schedules change quickly and having options helps.
