Seasonal jobs that might turn permanent after 17 years as an administrative assistant

A staffing agency says some roles convert to permanent after 17 weeks. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. I would like to avoid a gap in my résumé. Is it worth applying to several at once?

Apply to several. Start dates and schedules change quickly and having options helps.
