Seasonal jobs that might turn permanent after 16 years as a payroll clerk

A staffing agency says some roles convert to permanent after 16 weeks. Any experience at all would help. I would like to avoid a gap in my résumé. Has anyone been converted to permanent?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
