Seasonal jobs that might turn permanent - 5 months and counting

I am looking at seasonal jobs around Kansas City that might lead to something longer. Any experience at all would help. The pay is hourly with weekly deposits. Which employers treat seasonal workers well?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
