Seasonal hiring: what is paying well this year? - what worked for you?

A staffing agency says some roles convert to permanent after 8 weeks. I worked as an IT help-desk technician before this. Hours ramp up in the coming weeks. Is it worth applying to several at once?

I was converted after one season because I showed up every day and volunteered for extra shifts. Managers remember that.
