Seasonal hiring: what is paying well this year? - what worked for you?

I am looking at seasonal jobs around Oklahoma City that might lead to something longer. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. I would like to avoid a gap in my résumé.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 6 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
