Seasonal hiring: what is paying well this year? - what worked for you?

I am looking at seasonal jobs around Sacramento that might lead to something longer. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. The pay is hourly with weekly deposits. Is it worth applying to several at once?

Apply to several. Start dates and schedules change quickly and having options helps.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
