Seasonal hiring: what is paying well this year? - what worked for you?

A staffing agency says some roles convert to permanent after 6 weeks. Any experience at all would help. The pay is hourly with weekly deposits. Which employers treat seasonal workers well?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
