Seasonal hiring: what is paying well this year? (Portland)

A retailer and two warehouses near Portland are hiring seasonal staff. I am in Portland, in case local advice matters. The pay is hourly with weekly deposits. Has anyone been converted to permanent?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 7 months ago, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
