Seasonal hiring: what is paying well this year?

I am looking at seasonal jobs around Boston that might lead to something longer. I am in Boston, in case local advice matters. Hours ramp up in the coming weeks. Has anyone been converted to permanent?

I was converted after one season because I showed up every day and volunteered for extra shifts. Managers remember that.

Apply to several. Start dates and schedules change quickly and having options helps.
