Seasonal hiring: what is paying well this year? after 14 years as an insurance claims processor

I am looking at seasonal jobs around Louisville that might lead to something longer. I have been trying to stay organised about it. I would like to avoid a gap in my résumé. Has anyone been converted to permanent?
