Seasonal hiring: what is paying well this year?

A retailer and two warehouses near Columbus are hiring seasonal staff. I am in Columbus, in case local advice matters. I would like to avoid a gap in my résumé. Has anyone been converted to permanent?

Apply to several. Start dates and schedules change quickly and having options helps.
