Public-sector jobs open for Phoenix residents - what worked for you?

The city and county near Phoenix both posted administrative and maintenance openings this week. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. Some need a short exam. How long did it take to hear back?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
