Public-sector jobs open for Phoenix residents - any advice?

I found several public-sector postings with benefits and a steady schedule. Some need a short exam. Anyone applied for one?

It took me about two months from application to offer. Apply early and keep your contact details current.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 11 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
