Part-time jobs that fit around childcare - what worked for you?

A grocery chain and a hotel near Little Rock are hiring part-time staff. It has been weighing on me all week. Shifts are four to six hours and the pay is weekly. How many hours do they guarantee?

I got the job by going in around mid-morning and asking for the manager. Worth a try.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 7 months ago, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
